| Addtional information: | I am going to say that this garment is likely to be from the late 90’s to early 2000’s. Just going by the delustered satin that was popular around that time. This could be incorrect so please don’t quote me on that. The style was also quite popular at this time.
The garment is a straight dress with a basque waist, puff sleeves and a detachable train. The skirt does not have side seams however it has side darts to shape the hips to the waist. Interesting feature. The back of the skirt has the usual split for ease of movement. The sleeves are super puffed with some elastic which is likely to require replacing otherwise the sleeves may keep falling off the shoulder. The detachable train is quite long – approximately 2m from the top of the train to the hem. The elastic loops have lost their elasticity so they will need to be replaced. The train appears to be in excellent condition. There is a slight mark on the train about half way down (see photo). Probably will easily be removed with a hand soak and wash. The buttons on the dress where the train is to be looped, are slightly starting to come out of the hold of the button. Could probably be fixed with some stitches. The lace appears to be in excellent condition along with the beads. Not sure what the press stud is for under the beads on the upper back right side however. |
